Pakistani cricketer Umar Akmal, whose career is full of controversies, bans, and fines, is banned by PCB. On Monday, he has banned from all forms of cricket for three years after being convicted of failing to report match-fixing approaches.
The disciplinary committee of PCB declares this decision after a brief hearing.
Akmal’s cricket career was up to the mark. Till the age of 29 he played 16 Tests, 121 ODIs, and 84 Twenty 20 Internationals.
Umar Akmal was under a provisional suspension since Feb 20 right before the opening ceremony of PSL5. He was to represent Quetta Gladiators in the opening game of PSL in Karachi.
Umar Akmal Reveals all in an Interview
Earlier in an interview, Umar Akmal told about how he gets offers for match-fixing and skipping matches against India.
“I was once offered $ 200,000 to drop two deliveries and to skip matches against India.”
Further, he reveals how he approached during ICC World Cup but he mentions nothing about his report against these approaches.

In a reply to Pommie Mbangwa, the ex-Zimbabwe cricketer, and a commentator, Ramiz said, “Jail possibly be the last resort.”

Umar Akmal handed three-year ban from all cricket by Chairman of the Disciplinary Panel Mr Justice (retired) Fazal-e-Miran Chauhan.

PCB’s legal adviser Taffazul Haider Rizvi has said
“Umar Akmal will be able to appeal to an independent adjudicator within 14 days before the final verdict”
Lt Col Asif Mahmood, the director of PCB security and anti-corruption, said:
“The PCB doesn’t take any pleasure in seeing a promising international being declared ineligible for three years on corruption charges but this is a timely reminder to all who think they can get away by breaching the anti-corruption code.”
He further requests to all the players to stay away from all the acts of corruption for the sake of their own and country’s best interest.
