News Today: These Madrassa Students Made It To The Finals Of TEKNOFEST 2020
It is not very usual to see that a group of students from a Madrassa in Pakistan is given an adequate opportunity to showcase its skills in front of the world just like everybody else in private and premium educational institutions. Madrassa students have always been looked down upon and underestimated because of their so-called “backwardness”. Recently, Madrassa students have been breaking stereotypes big time. The most recent one being from Jamia Bait-ul-Salam, Talagang who made it to the finals of TEKNOFEST 2020. These students have defied all odds and overcome major technological challenges and qualified as the number 1 team out of many teams around the world.

TEKNOFEST 2020
TEKNOFEST is one of the largest science and technology exhibitions that is organized in Turkey by Turkey. The purpose of this festival is to bring forward new ideas in the field of aerospace and technology in order to benefit the country’s technical horizon. Every year, more than 20 countries participate in the competition and the team with the best innovation in the field of robotics and avionics wins the deal.
According to the event report issued recently by the institution regarding the qualifying round, Blatu, the Bait-ul-Salam team which had applied for the competition, has come on top of the category of Technology for Humanity-Social Innovation with a whopping 87 points out 100.
Jamia Bait-ul-Salam’s Rich Scientific Background
This is not the first time this Islamic institution has made a mark in a scientific competition. Bait-ul-Salam students are already famous for winning the Robofiesta in 2019, a robotic and electronics themed competition that is held in HITEC University Taxila every year. The Bait-ul-Salam robotic team won the championship by defeating students of more than 20 universities, earning sheer pride for their institution.
It is about time we rewire our way of perception towards madrassa students. Just a few days back we shared story of another madrassa taught man who cleared CSS and got 6th position in KPK.

We wish best of luck to this team from Bait-us-Salam so that they win the actual competition and bring pride to Pakistan.
