Now Reading: Scientist Claims That New Type Of Bird Flu Might Kill Half Of Humanity
Dr. Michael Gregor – a scientist, nutritionist and physician – has prophecised of a pandemic that could wipe out half of humanity if left unchecked. Aside from examining the methods by which modern infectious viruses, many of which originate from animals, can be treated, in his book – “How to Survive a Pandemic: Overcoming COVID-19 and Preventing the Next Deadly Outbreak“ – he has claimed that the coronavirus could very well be a calm before the storm that is about to hit the human race.
Warning Of A New, DEADLIER Type Of Bird Flu
Dr. Gregor expressed his concerns on the current hygienic conditions of poultry farms in his book. He claimed that unless the condition of the overcrowded poultry forms, where chickens are kept in extremely close proximity and in contact with each other, is changed, deadly viruses could arise from there which could prove far deadlier than anything humanity has faced before. Gregor said;
“The more animals jammed together, the more spins the virus may get at the roulette wheel while gambling for the pandemic jackpot that may be hidden in the lining of the chickens’ lungs.”
What Exactly Is The Bird Flu And How Could It Be SO Deadly For Humans?
Bird flu or avian flu is the highly contagious virus that transmits between birds and rarely, between birds and humans. The viral infection is of several varieties, majority of which do not affect humans. However, over the recent years, two types of the virus have been a big cause of concern for scientists. These are the H5N1 virus, which infected humans in 1997 and the H7N9 virus which was found to be infecting humans in 2013.
Dr. Gregor warned that while H5N1 was not AS contagious between humans as COVID-19, it has been observed to be mutating. He has also called for reforming the current way domestic animals are raised. He emphasized that it must be done in order to stop the rise of the next killer flu.
Comparing the coronavirus with the potential killer flu and highlighting bird flu’s mutation chances, Dr. Gregor said;
“The worry is that the virus never stands still but is always mutating. This is the monster lurking in the undergrowth, the one that makes epidemiologists shudder.
In the ‘hurricane scale’ of epidemics, COVID-19, with a death rate of around half of one percent, rates a measly Category Two, possibly a Three. The Big One, the typhoon to end all typhoons, will be 100 times worse when it comes, a Category Five producing a fatality rate of one in two. Civilization as we know it, would CEASE.”
Dr. Gregor concluded that at the end, we would have to make a choice between poultry and humanity. He said;
“The pandemic cycle could theoretically be broken for good. Bird flu could be grounded. As long as there is poultry, there will be pandemics. In the end, it may be us or them.”
