Murad Saeed, the Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services of the PTI government, has stated that the current government has launched road projects that are 300 times more numerous than those of previous governments and their claims.

Minister Saeed made the announcement during a ceremony at the National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) on Thursday titled “Honoring Outstanding Contribution.” He went on to say that a number of road projects are in the works, some are finished, and more will be launched soon.

Inspector General NH&MP Syed Kaleem Imam and his team were praised by the minister for their outstanding performance. He also praised the NH&MP for introducing user-friendly applications like ‘Mashwara’ and ‘Humsafar,’ which allow commuters to ask questions or make suggestions about Pakistan Motorways and reach out to authorities quickly for help.

Minister Saeed stated that the government will welcome and act on the proposals and suggestions received through Mashwara based on feasibility, and that the government will continue to work on improving the NHA system. “Modern technologies are being acquired to ensure transparency in various departments,” he explained his point.

Minister Saeed also announced that work on the Dir—Swat, DI Khan—Peshawar, and Hyderbad—Sukkar Motorways will begin soon, and that a major motorway project connecting Sialkot and Kharian will begin on May 25. In addition, work on the Balkasar—Mianwali and Muzafarghar—DG Khan roads will get underway soon.

He also mentioned that work on several megaprojects, such as the M-8, Khuzdar—Basima, Ratto Dero, the CPEC Western route, Dara Adamkhel, and others, is currently underway.
