October is known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month across the world to let people know about the importance of early diagnoses and testing the disease. The campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness is focused at raising funds for research and increasing awareness among the masses.
This year, Pakistan also took part in this campaign at government level. The Aiwan-e-Saddar aka President house turned pink on Monday. A ceremony related to Breast Cancer Awareness was also held at president house in Islamabad where diplomats were invited including the Ambassador of Italy in Pakistan, Stefano Pontecorvo, and his wife also took part in the event.

This initiative had been taken by the president Dr. Arif Alvi’s wife, Begum Samina Alvi.
Pontecorvo the Italian Ambassador tweeted that he was honored to be part of the campaign to aware the masses about the disease, advising that
“early diagnosis saves lives, always”.
