Each year, PSL spends a lot on promoting its brand throughout the world. Most importantly, in Pakistan. Huge amounts of money and a lot of effort goes into this promotion. This way, cricket can become even more mainstream in Pakistan.
Peshawar Zalmi, more than any other team in PSL, tries to promote its brand. It has launched multiple side businesses, involved many big names to act as its ambassadors and has released several anthems to stand out among the rest.
This year, all eyes were on Peshawar Zalmi as they released their official anthem. Peshawar Zalmi has now released its official anthem and its a unique hip-hop Pashto song which carries the potential to be the best this year. It can further increase the excitement and enthusiasm of the team’s fans.
It features star crickets of Peshawar Zalmi such as Darren Sammy, Kamran Akmal, Wahab Riaz, Hassan Ali, and Mohammad Mohsin, along with other showbiz stars such as Mehwish Hayat and Hania Amir. Because of their magnificent performances, the cricket fans can’t help but swing and dance to this anthem. With the title of “Zalmi by Fortitude,” this anthem has been created by Pashto band “Pukhtoon Core”. Pashto’s unique hip hop tunes and the enthusiastic lyrics are the distinctive features of this anthem and with amazing vocals, this song is mostly shaping up to be a huge hit.
Whereas the song, from a different perspective, is a bit controversial as well. It is receiving criticism on twitter because many Pakistanis are new to the hip hop genre. Some fans even started bashing other fans for supporting the song alongside criticizing it. However, the people experienced with hip hop don’t fail to appreciate it. Hopefully, this anthem from Peshawar Zalmi will grow on the inexperienced crowd with time.
