Now Reading: Palestine Thanks Pakistan for Refusing to Recognize Israel
The State of Palestine has thanked Pakistan for refusing to recognize Israel unless it gave freedom to Palestine. In an issued statement, the Palestinian Embassy thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for his “strong response” against Israel and expressed gratitude to the government four continuing to support the Palestinian cause. It also thanked the country’s government for condemning Israel’s aggression towards Palestine.
“On behalf of Palestinian people and the government of State of Palestine, the Embassy of Palestine, Islamabad, conveys sincere thanks for extending all sorts of support to Palestinian cause, and especially for condemning, in the strongest terms, the Israeli aggression towards Palestine. We Palestinians consider Pakistan as our second homeland, and Pakistanis as our dearest brothers, who always supported Palestine on every forum of the world,” read the statement.
Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Stand
Palestine’s gratefulness came as PM Khan, in a late-night two-hour long interview, said that Pakistan will not be establishing diplomatic relations with Israel until Palestine is not given a separate state of its own, which is acceptable by the Palestinian people on the basis of the Two-Nation Theory. This stand comes after the PM office released a statement post-UAE-Israel peace treaty where it said that Pakistan’s stand would be based on whether Palestine’s rights are fulfilled or not.
The premier has made it very clear now too and has stated;
“Our stance is very clear from day one and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had said Pakistan can never accept state of Israel until the people of Palestine get their rights and state. If we recognize Israel now and ignore the tyranny faced by Palestinians, we will have to give up the cause of Kashmir as well, and that, we cannot do.”
"اسرائیل کے بارے میں ہمارا موقف واضح ہے۔ قائداعظم نے کہا تھا کہ جب تک فلسطینیوں کو اُنکے بنیادی حقوق اور علیحدہ ریاست نہیں ملتی، تب تک پاکستان اسرائیل کو تسلیم نہیں کرسکتا۔"

Pakistan’s Continued Support to Palestine
The Palestinian Embassy hailed the strong support it received from Pakistan on this issue. It highlighted that the governments of Pakistan throughout the years have always supported Palestine’s cause on all the forums of the world. It also expressed that it is proof of Pakistan’s love for Palestine that it hasn’t established relations with Israel till now. The statement concluded;
“Ever since the creation of Pakistan, every government has always supported the just cause of Palestine on all the forums. The embassy heartily appreciates the stance of Imran Khan, the prime minister of Pakistan, when answering to the question about Israel, said that the founder of Pakistan had made it clear that Israel would not be recognized until a just and fair solution to the Palestinian problem is given. The prime minister said we will be answerable to Allah on Palestine issue, and his conscience will never allow accepting Israel without a solution to the Palestinian issue. He said that Pakistan’s position is very clear, Pakistan can never recognize Israel. If we surrender to Israel, then we must leave Kashmir.
As evidence of Pakistan’s support, the letter also cited statements by two of the country’s founders i.e. Quaid-e-Azam and the National Poet on the Palestine issue. “Pakistan would never recognise Israel until a viable two-state solution is reached in regards to the Israel-Palestine conflict,” said Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Meanwhile, Dr. Allama Iqbal had said: “If the Jews had a right to the soil of Palestine, why can’t the Arabs lay claim to Spain? No, British Imperialism has other aims. It’s no tale of citron, honey or dates.”
The letter wrapped up by expressing hopes for Pakistan’s continued support. It concluded;
“We are hopeful that this support will be with us until we get an independent State of Palestine with Jerusalem Al Quds as capital.”
