Prime Minister Imran Khan has unveiled a new political map of Pakistan which includes the entirety of Indian-Occupied Kashmir for the first time. Speaking to the country, the PM said this would now be the official map of Pakistan and would be used in all school curricula. He also said the move was backed and supported by all political stakeholders in the country and that it represented both Pakistani and Kashmiri aspirations.
Here’s the new Map:
Calling it a “historic day”, he maintained his assertion that the Kashmir conflict required a political solution rather than a military solution and emphasized that it could only be solved in accordance with official resolutions of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
The move comes one day before the one-year anniversary of India’s abrogation of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, a move Pakistan condemned as illegal and unjustified. The country is to observe Youm-e-Istehsal in solidarity with Kashmir on Wednesday, August 5.
The new map Shows following territories as Pakistani territories
