New Ministers for Industries, Food and Telecommunication as PM Imran Reshuffles The Cabinet

Political face of the country has experienced yet another significant development in the last two days. After the detailed investigation that was followed by an expressive report against many big names in federal government, PM Imran Khan decided to reshuffle the cabinet, shuffling the ones accused of creating sugar crisis in the previous months. The government in command of Imran Khan has appointed new ministers for industries, food and telecommunication.

Khusru Bakhtyar was previously the head of National Food Security but in the recent development, he has been appointed as the federal minister for economic affairs. His name was in the report where he was labelled as a beneficiary to the bodies which were responsible for the creation of sugar shortage. He is accused of helping the sugar mafia in obtaining subsidies offered by the government as well as allowing them to export a major stock of sugar.

With Khusro Bakhtyar being out of the frame for National Food Security Ministry, PM Imran Khan has appointed Syed Fakhar Imam as the new federal minister. PM Imran Khan has invested faith in the new federal minister in hopes of speeding up the development in respective domain.

In addition to the food ministry, the ministry of industries and narcotics control have also been reshuffled. The official Twitter handler of Prime Minister’s office tweeted that Azam Sawati has been appointed as the new federal Minister for Narcotics Control. Hammad Azhar has been appointed as the new federal minister for industries. In addition to shuffling the designations of the cabinet members, PM Imran has also laid some of them to rest. Mohammad Shahzad Arbab is no longer the adviser to the PM for parliamentary affairs. Rather, Babar Awan has been appointed in his place.

After weeks and weeks of Khalid Maqbool Siddique of pleading his resignation request to the prime minister, his resignation has also been accepted amid all the reallocation.
