Recently, the famous journalist and social activist Marvi Sirmed grabs the attention of the whole nation with her insensitive tweet.

Social media users have expressed anger over the insensitive Tweet by human rights activist Marvi Sirmed. Moreover, Pakistanis asking for authorities to arrest Marvi Sirmed for violation of Section 295-C of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Section 295-C specifically pertains to the use of derogatory remarks in respect of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and other prophets. This is a crime punishable by death.
Marvi Sarmad took to Twitter and made a sarcastic comment about the state’s practice of enforced disappearances in Balochistan. The social media users considered the tweet derogatory towards Hazrat Isa (AS).
The activist in her later tweet shared the English translation of her remarks and questioned how her words fell in the context of blasphemy?
She said, “The tweet which is generating a lot of abuse, blasphemy allegations, and threats. For those who don’t read Urdu: Mullah told Jesus Christ didn’t die, he was picked up by God. A simpleton asked: Was Jesus a Baloch? For Pete’s sake, how it is blasphemous? How?

Later on, she also shared the same words that were shared by many other people on Twitter as well. She states that the response to them was not the same.

Later on, when there was a huge wave of anger arise for her. She further clarifies her Tweet by saying
Blasphemy is in the eyes of beholder. My tweet doesn't insult any religion. But it certainly mocks Pakistan's dark forces that violate all norms of decency, constitution & law, by #EnforcedDisappearances murder and torture.

The subject-matter has caused an uproar on social media. Activists are lamenting the agnostic and unreasonable tweet of Sirmed. Moreover, they demand her arrest with the trending hashtag #ArrestMarviSirmed_295C on Twitter.

The religion of Marvi is still a mystery to solve. Upon asking about her religion she always comes up with absurd answers. That is to say, she never clarifies her religious belongingness.
Marvi always managed to become a controversial person. She was in news earlier this year when she and Khalil-ur-Rehman had a fight. Khalil bashed Marvi at a Talk Show. Both of them were invited to share their thoughts about Aurat Azadi March 2020.
