“Meray Dost Meray Yaar”: Season 1 was a hit in Pakistani entertainment industry. This season mostly became popular because Asim Azhar and Syra Yousuf’s dynamic duo charmed people into exploring the theme of the season. And contrary to many people’s expectations, the season was actually pretty decent in its story-line, that made people forgive some short-comings in acting performances. The reason people took the first edition lightly was mostly due to its peculiar promotional campaign, always sponsored by Candi, a biscuit variant from LU Pakistan.
Nevertheless, “Meray Dost Meray Yaar” is once again causing a buzz with its second season. This specific season has grabbed many people’s attention, mostly because of the cast selection. In the second season, we will see Asim Azhar pairing up with Hania Amir. These two have been seen sharing some chemistry in real life as well, however, it has seen its confusing times.

The thing that has put this latest season on the watch-list of many is due to the fact that Danceography is going to choreograph all the dance in this season. In case you are not familiar with Danceography for whatever reason, it is a YouTube channel owned by the famous actress Srha Asghar and Rabya Kulsoom. Srha is not only an actress, but an extraordinary choreographer.
The pair of girls has been on the set of “Meray Dost Meray Yaar” season 2 along with Hania Amir and Asim who can be seen trying to get a grasp of their dance moves.
Rise Of Short Seasons In Pakistan
Pakistan has recently seen a spike in the number of short seasons with sequels and trilogies based on less than 10 or a little more episodes. This theme of entertainment content is surely popular, keeping in mind Netflix and other streaming services. This tells us that Pakistan is ready to accept its own streaming platform that can broadcast such seasons, and quite possibly sponsor financially for good quality production.
Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry recently announced that the relevant ministry has been making efforts to introduce a national level streaming service, exclusive for Pakistan based content.
It will be interesting to see what the government comes up with and whether or not the public likes it.
