Kasur incident today: Police reported on Tuesday that in the last 75 days they have found the remains of at least three of the four missing children from the city of Kasur in Chunian.
According to Kasur police, the body of one of the three missing children was found, while only the remains of the other two were found. The remains were sent for DNA testing. It confirmed that the three children were raped before they were buried underground.
The incident occurred in the Kasur district, approximately 52 km south of Lahore, Punjab province, Pakistan. The murders and rape of these children recall the terrible rape and murder of six-year-old Zainab Ansari, which provoked national protests and protests. The body of Zainab was found in January 2018 in a landfill in Kasur.
Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani, Kasur District Police Officer (DPO), did not immediately explain how the three children were killed. The police suspected the victims had been sexually abused before they died.
The case has led to demonstrations in the city of Kasur and in adjacent areas. The markets were closed on Wednesday. Angry protesters also threw stones at the police station and blocked traffic to demand justice and immediately arrest the perpetrators.
According to reports in Pakistani media, protesters have closed stores and transport in some areas. The city’s professional association and local lawyers’ association called for a strike after the authorities discovered the bodies on Tuesday. In a statement, Inspector General Punjab (IGP) Arif Nawaz Khan said there were similarities in the kidnapping and murder incidents, Geo TV said. In this context, a working group was sent under the leadership of the police chief who was responsible for the investigation in Kasur, Quddus Baig. The IGP invited them to submit a first report within six hours. In addition, forensic science teams have collected samples and evidence from various criminal sites. The Prime Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar, signaled the death of these children and asked the provincial police chief for an informative meeting.

It is important to note that Kasur has drawn international attention to recurring cases of sexual abuse of children in recent years after Zainab Ansari, a six-year-old girl who was raped and brutally murdered. Her body was found in a garbage dump.
