Gossip girl is one of the most iconic TV show of the 21st century. After all, not many shows are called the “Greatest Teen Drama of All Time” by the New York magazine or have a holiday dedicated to them. It may have shown an unrealistic expectation of love and life but it spoke to the hopeless romantic in us all. Amidst all plotting and scheming the show had a powerful lesson on self-development and growth. If such a show had been released in Pakistan, it would definitely be a massive hit. Unfortunately, we were never blessed with a desi version but that doesn’t stop us from fantasizing about it. So, here are the Pakistani actors, who we think would have killed it in the Upper East Side (UES) scene.
1. Alizeh Shah as Jenny Humphery
We are introduced to Jenny as a young naive girl who wants to ascend the social ladder. She becomes obsessed with wealth, privilege and the resulting power. Even changing her looks and personality to impress Blair Waldorf, who she looks up to. It would be interesting to see Alizeh in such a role. Given how talented she is we are sure she would make a perfect Jenny.
2. Ahad Raza Mir as Nate Archibald
Nate is the show’s eye candy, the heartthrob who has it all; wealth, looks, connections, everything. Although not very smart, he is involved with many girls over the course of the show. Ahad Raza Mir is not lacking in the looks department also and with that attitude, he would have made a Nate girls would drool after decades later.
3. Bilal Abbas as Dan Humphrey
One of the pivotal characters in the show starts off as the lonely boy, an outsider from Brooklyn. He doesn’t have the same privilege as the rest of his peers. Bilal Abbas has the same brooding vibe and we can see him totally fit in the character.
4. Feroz Khan as Chuck Bass
From the first episode, the show paints Chuck in a bad light. He tries to rape Jenny and is shown as a villain. But as the series progress, he redeems him and at the end, he became one of the most favourite characters on the show. Who else can we think of as Chuck other than the TVs most notorious bad boy: Feroz Khan. This role is made for him.
5. Hareem Farooq as Serena van der Woodsen
She is the ‘IT’ girl of Upper East Side; fashionable, wealthy and beautiful. She is the only one in the show trying to avoid drama. Mindful of other people around her, she cares deeply for her family and friend. Her friendship with Blair is friendship goal. Hareem has the right amount of fashion and humility in her to pull off this role.
6. Hania Amir as Bliar Waldrof
Finally, the queen bee herself. The show’s main protagonist is as brutal and ruthless as she is pretty. She doesn’t let anything get in her way and can do anything for her loved ones. We feel that Hania Amir would be at home in the queen’s shoe.
