Reading Now: Government Sought Help From Pakistani TikTok Stars To Help Raise Awareness For Coronavirus
Coronavirus infection has spiked in the recent days in Pakistan with an exponential increase in patients everyday. For the last few days, Pakistan has been observing the trend of new highest figures everyday. If things continue like this, doctors are making it clear that in about a month, the entire healthcare system will crumble to the ground. And that would be an utter disaster amidst such a crisis with an unprecedented timeline.
The so called smart lockdown policy of this government has been of no use, with little to no control over people. Rather, it is being termed as the causal factor for this spike. However, now the government is changing gears and starting to impose lockdown, step by step. To help the country rise above this crisis, government wants to raise awareness. For this very purpose, just recently, government sought help from Pakistani TikTok stars to help raise awareness for Coronavirus.

Invitation To The Governor House In Punjab
It might be tough for some people to digest the fact that popular stars from a notoriously cringy social media platform were invited over to the governor house by the Governor of Punjab himself. On their arrival, the GOP and his wife welcomed the TikTok stars and insisted to raise awareness on this increasingly worrisome problem.
The stars also shared their thoughts on what they thought was or had been the reason for such a rapid spread of this virus in Pakistan. With over 4000 patients coming everyday, everybody shared a mutual concern over the sensitivity of this issue and how the nation can collectively get a hold over this health crisis.
The GOP also shed light on the deadly backlashes of this pandemic that could very well disrupt the entire socio-economic system as well as national health for many years to come.
People Seem To Share The Sentiment Of Anger Over This
Majorly, the top-ranking TikTok stars attended the seminar in which they vowed to raise awareness to their fanbase with their platform. However, people have taken the government with a stern hand and are questioning their abilities of employing more reasonable ways of raising adequate awareness. Many people have questioned if PEMRA or other media institutes can do anything productive other than letting absurd people shouting on television screens. Also, majority of such people have shared a view that the people who do not hold expertise in a certain domain of life should not be asked to perform tasks belonging to that domain.
They think that Pakistani doctors, researchers and scientists can guide and aware in a much fruitful, effective and rational way if given a chance. Government does not promote people belonging to respective sectors of life who can help in this crisis, rather resorts to some social media stars who seem to have gathered their fanbase for entirely different reasons and content.
What are your thoughts on this? Would people listen to their favorite stars more seriously than healthcare professionals? Let us know in the comments.
