Now Reading: Gang Gets Arrested for Fining Shops Over Violation of COVID-19 SOPs.
The Lahore Police have apprehended a gang accused of forging their identities and posing as fake magistrates in order to rob shopkeepers and citizens for COVID-19 protocol violations. According to the police’s initial report, the party had raided random shops under the pretext of violating COVID-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) and had extracted thousands of rupees in this manner on several occasions.
The gang presented fake receipts to three shopkeepers and collected large amounts of money in Qila Gujar Singh, according to the police. One of the shopkeepers had called the cops on the spur of the moment, and the gang had been apprehended easily.
Separately, officials in Lahore are strictly enforcing SOPs and stringent protocols to halt the spread of the coronavirus, which has swept through the densely populated area. Furthermore, strict steps are being taken to deal with people who do not wear face masks.
For failing to follow the prescribed health and safety rules, the authorities have punished many people by forcing them to stand on the roads in broad daylight for more than 30 minutes in order to set a precedent for the masses. In the meantime, the government has asked all people to obey the COVID-19 SOPs.
