If you are going through a lot and want something to cheer you up then your wait is over. All the ‘FRIENDS’ lovers out there get ready to shout out again because ‘Friends’ will be back in May 2020.
Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer will return to the original “Friends” soundstage, Stage 24, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank to celebrate the long-running series, which ended its run in 2004.
The cast will be reuniting exclusively for an untitled unscripted special for HBO Max. It will be directed by Ben Winston and produced by Fulwell 73 and Warner Bros.
All 10 seasons of the comedy left Netflix at the end of 2019. Even though the finale of this series was over 15 years ago but the sales of ‘Friends’ have tripled after this news broke.
According to the sources ‘Friends’ was one of Netflix’s most-watched shows but it will no longer be available till HBO Max launches in May, but only subscribers will be able to get access to 236 episodes.
Kevin Reilly, the chief content officer at HBO Max said:
“Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together — we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courteney, Matt, Lisa, and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire ‘Friends’ library.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter “All the six actors will receive at least $2.5 million and $3 million for the participation at HBO Max.“
‘Friends’ is a mega project to HBO Max and WarnerMedia as a whole. In 2019, the company paid more than $425 million just to secure the exclusive rights to the series.
