Dr. Sania Nishtar paid a surprise visit at Ehsas Program center in Burqa

Dr. Sania Nishtar, Special Assistant on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety to the PM paid a surprise visit to the Ehsaas Emergency Cash payment center in Burqa.

Disguised in Burqa she visited Nurpur Shahan on the outskirts of Islamabad to inspect the arrangements at centers.

Under the flagship initiative of the PTI government, Rs 89.143 billion has been distributed in the wake of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Currently, the government started paying to beneficiaries’ lies under the Category III of the Ehsas Program. Meanwhile, payments to the beneficiaries under Category II is ongoing.

While her visit. Dr. Sania sat in the line of beneficiaries and interacted with them in order to check the transparency of the program.

“The reason for this surprise visit is to check the transparency and quality of the program. Further, she reviewed the precautionary measures taken at the center like social distancing, sanitizing hands, and disinfection of centers,” told the reporters.

Besides this, Sania further said that “The service providers and retailers should strictly adhere to the precautionary measures.

Nishtar assured the quality of the payment system by saying that

“Most of the beneficiaries belongs to the labor class. These are the most affected ones because of Covid-19 restriction.”

NADRA Offices

The offices of Nadra have been open countrywide to facilitate the beneficiaries. NADRA resolves the problems of those who are facing difficulty in withdrawing cash due to faulty biometric identification.

Moreover, The fee of Rs 50 charged for the registration of deaths of eligible family members. NADRA assured to resolve the problems within 24 hours.

Dr. Sania is now all set for some more surprise visits to improve the quality of the Ehsas program by herself.
