Now Reading: CDA Warns To Demolish Navy’s Illegal Sailing Club In Islamabad
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has taken notice of the illegal construction of the Pakistan Navy’s sailing club in Islamabad (near Lake View Park) and has warned to demolish it if they are non-compliant with the order of halting said construction. This notice comes after it was reported that the sailing club was actually inaugurated on the 10th of July this year. The inauguration was done by Chief of Naval Staff – Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi.
In a notification released by the CDA on July 13th, it was revealed that this is the third notice that is being issued to the sailing club. Prior to this, the club was told to stop its construction on two dates i.e. on 17th September of 2019 and on 24th February of 2020.
Details Of The CDA’s Latest Notice
Now in this third notice, the Navy’s sailing club has been warned by the CDA of this constant ignoring of orders and the club owners have been instructed to stop the construction work and all functional activities at once. It further added that if compliance is not made sure, then the authorities will be forced to ‘take action’ and will demolish the structure at the risk and cost of the club.
Addressing the Navy Sailing Club while referencing the prior notices, here’s what the latest notice stated;
“Reference above notice, you were directed to immediately stop illegal / unauthorized construction work of Pakistan Navy Sailing Club. It has one again come to notice of this Authority that illegal/unauthorized construction activities have been resumed and the club has been made functional. This is sheer violation of CDA laws which needs to be halted immediately. In view of above, you are directed to immediately stop the illegal / unauthorized construction work and functional activities of Pakistan Navy Sailing Club. It may be noted that if you failed to comply from the date of issuance of this Notice, CDA will take action regarding removal / demolition of illegal/unauthorized structure forcefully at your risk and cost.”
