A Milad function was held on Sunday at the Bilawal House Karachi marking the beginning of the series of events of Bakhtawar Bhutto’s wedding.
The women-only gathering attends by the aunts of Bakhtawar Bhutto, Faryal Talpur and Dr. Azra Pechuho, and other party members of the PPP, according to a statement.
“At the end of the Milad, special prayers were held for the success of Ms. Bhutto-Zardari’s marital life,” the statement said.

Pictures shared on social media showed participants wearing face masks attending the Milad. Moreover, an elegant portrait of Benazir Bhutto placed in the hall.
On Friday, the Bilawal House disclose the schedule of Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari’s wedding with the UAE-based businessman Mahmood Chaudhry.
Sources have affirmed that all the festivities of the wedding would be celebrating in Karachi.
Weeklong functions have planned for the wedding of the daughter of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and former president Asif Ali Zardari.
A spokesperson of Bilawal House said that a simple Mehndi ceremony is planned for January 27. While the Nikkah of Bakhtawar Bhutto will be held on January 29 while the Barat is scheduled for January 30.
Meanwhile, a brief statement issued by Bilawal House said that:
“Some 300 guests would be joining at the Baraat on Jan 30. Certainly, considering the arrangements under the standard operating procedures due to Covid-19 precautions.”
Moreover, the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be suspending his political activities for a week to participate in his sister’s wedding, the spokesperson said.
The couple exchanges their rings in a simple engagement ceremony held in November 2020 engagement ceremony. The couple exchanged rings amid celebratory shouts and claps from the guests, who included a few senior politicians, PPP leaders, business giants, real estate tycoons, prominent lawyers, some legislators, and close relatives at Bilawal House.
Unfortunately, PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari was in self-isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 at that time. So, he had joined the engagement ceremony through a video link.
Who’s Mahmood Choudhary?
According to the PPP’s media cell,
“Mahmood Choudhary is the son of Mohammad Younas Choudhary and Begum Suriya Choudhary and manages a diversified business. The family hails from the old town of Lahore, Pakistan.”
According to another statement issued by PP states
“Mr. Younas migrated to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 1973, where he established businesses in the construction and transport industry.” Also, it says, “Mahmood, the last born of five siblings, was born on July 28, 1988, in the city of Abu Dhabi.”
