Asim Bajwa is Twitter’s top trend after Govt releases assets and dual nationality details of PM’s special assistants

Information Minister Shibli Faraz announced Saturday night that details of assets and other nationalities of PM’s special advisers are now available.

Moreover, Shibli said that the details have been shared on the Cabinet Division website as instructed by the prime minister.

However, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Lieutenant General (Retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa catches all the limelight. Not only he owns multiple plots in Defence Housing Authority and agricultural land but also has a huge bank balance.

As per Bajwa’s transparency report, his immovable property is worth Rs151.433 million. Two in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore respectively.Plus one each in Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur.

Also, the worth of Rs3, 100,000 have been bought in his wife’s name. Moreover, he owns a car, the Toyota ZX 2016, worth Rs3 million.

Two bank accounts in Islamabad have Rs291, 000, and Rs1,239, respectively. Lt Gen Bajwa also has a foreign currency account in Rawalpindi containing $4,149.

Aides worth millions of dollars and dual nationality

According to the details, at least six special advisers stated that they have dual nationalities. They include: Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari(UK), Shahzad Qasim (USA), Nadeem Babar(USA), Shahbaz Gill (USA), Nadeem Afzal Gondal (Canada), Tania Aidrus (Canada)

Similarly, others announced self-declaration of their movable and immovable assets worth millions of dollars. They are Shahzad Qasim (over Rs4 billion), Nadeem Babar( Rs2.75 billion), Zulfiqar Bukhari (over Rs2 billion), Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind (Rs812 million), Tania Aidrus (over Rs481 million), Asim Bajwa (Rs158 million), Shehzad Arbab( Rs127 million), Dr. Moeed Yusuf (Rs109 million), Usman Dar( Rs62 million), Dr. Zafar Mirza (Rs50 million), Dr. Sania Nishtar (Rs14 million).

However, most of the Pakistani appraised this step of PM Imran Khan. On the other hand, opposition criticizes the advisors with dual nationalities.
