Reading Now: Allegations On Benazir Bhutto By Cynthia D Ritchie Stir Anger Among Masses
Every now and then, allegations are made. Sometimes, allegations are of grave nature. Just recently, a famous American-Pakistani journalist Cynthia D Ritchie has made some seriously bold statements about Benazir Bhutto, the first female prime minister of Pakistan. People who are avid supporters of the Bhutto family, which there are a lot, have taken the internet by storm and are completely thrashing Cynthia for her remarks about Benazir Bhutto. PPP leaders and supporters have been infuriated by the allegations and many senior party members have criticized the journalist.
Tweet By Cynthia That Sparked The Fire
Cynthia D Ritchie is a writer for many online media outlets such as Express Tribune, The News International and The South Asia Magazine. Referring to one of the latest prominent incidents involving human rights violation, Cynthia was discussing the Uzma Khan scandal. Uzma Khan, an actress, was attacked by female relatives of Malik Riaz, who is one of the wealthiest and most powerful people in Pakistan. Uzma Khan and her sister were attacked in their home, physically assaulted and threatened to be raped.

While discussing about females who themselves suffer a lot yet do not refrain from oppressing other women in their surroundings, Cynthia targeted Benazir Bhutto. Firstly she accused Asif Ali Zardari, husband of Benazir, of cheating on her multiple times. And when that used to happen, Benazir used to order guards to physically assault and rape the women with whom her husband was involved with.
This echos stories of what BB used to do when her husband cheated. She"d have the guards rape the women.
Why do women condone this rape culture? Why aren't the men ever held accountable? Where is the justice system?
To Pakistan's youth: please reject this backward thinking! https://t.co/Xr3xTNzAVq

She condemned this culture and questioned the entire system of justice delivery. She pleaded the youth of Pakistan to wake up.
PPP Has Filed Against Cynthia In FIA
Shakeel Abbasi is an advocate at the High Court and also the district president for PPP. He has filed a complaint in the FIA against the now famous news blogger who accused his party leader with such derogatory remarks in the tweets later on. Those remarks are being referred to as false, defaming, untrue, and slanderous. According to the shared copy of the filed report, these accusations and remarks have hurt millions of people who love the Bhutto family and has requested the Cybercell to take immediate remedial legal action.
A member of the FIA cybercell later on reported that the case had been forwarded to the respective officials in the department for further investigation.
Cynthia Remains Unapologetic For Her Comments
Despite all the backlash she has had to face after her tweet went viral, including death and assault threats, Cynthia remains of the view that what she stated was based on facts and people need to correct their facts. She requested the followers of PPP to stop following their leaders blindly because they have been and are constantly being misled. She does not even consider Benazir a martyr who died for the nation, as depicted by the tweet below.
She 'gave up her life' for what?
Who was in the car with BB the day she was assassinated?
What was BB's final cell call & from whom & when was the call placed; review what that person told her.
Then update us with REAL historical facts. https://t.co/Rf07Kp8tnD

Many people have questioned the credibility of the journalist on what her agenda is and why she is targeting the popular national heroes, as acclaimed by the people of Pakistan. Despite all that, Cynthia is nowhere near stopping down her Twitter war, with brisk replies to each and everyone targeting her notion. Allegations on Benazir Bhutto by Cynthia D Ritchie stir anger among masses because Benazir Bhutto holds a special place in hearts of many Pakistanis.
What the future holds for her, is quite uncertain.
