7 Independence Day resolutions you always make and break

Every year on 14th August, we all Pakistani are on another level of patriotism. By the blessings of God, Today we are celebrating 73 years of independence and more to go.

14th August is not just a public holiday, this date means a lot to us. We lost many of our dear ones for an independent state. Our soldiers are offering their lives for the sake of the country’s integrity.

Every year we spend time thinking about building up the country and doing something which can help the country progress. We, as individuals spare the time to make the Independence Day resolutions that we obviously never follow.

1. We will follow rules

Pakistani prefer to finding a needle in hay rather than following rules. Not only the public but also the politicians and eminent personalities of Pakistan easily bend and break the rules as per their need. Traffic rules are nothing but a fun thing for us. Hundred of accidents happened every year but still, we are good at it. Besides this Pakistan has serious laws regarding drug offenses, blasphemy, unlawful assembly, and homosexuality which can put everyone in serious trouble. Next time we will try our best to follow rules, not for ourselves but for the safety of everyone.

2. Say ‘NO’ to wastage of water

As we all know from the day we elected PM Khan that we need to gather funds for Dams in Pakistan. If not, then we will be out of water till 2025. There are lots of campaigns running to guide us on how to use water without wasting it. Water is one of the main causes of rivalry between India and Pakistan. I am sure none of us wanted for us or for our future generations to beg anyone for water. Let’s not waste water any more.

3. We will keep Pakistan clean

Pak Pak Pakistan Saaf Saaf Pakistan, did you remember this slogan from your childhood? Yes exactly, all we have to do is to make our country clean. Otherwise, we all know what is happening in Karachi right now. Due to improper disposal of litter and garbage, the city of lights is almost underwater now. Next time, when you will about to throw the litter out of your house and car window, just remember we want our motherland safe and clean.

4. Trees and Plants everywhere

Every country should consist of at least 25% of forests but unluckily Pakistan’s land is enriched with less than 5% of forests. Trees and plants play a vital role in environmental stability and will help in moderating the climate. Planting a tree is not a big deal. Go to any plant store buy your favorite flower, tree, and fruit and plant it anywhere. Our PM takes the initiative of a hundred billion tree project. If that project works accordingly then we will witness the visible change in our climate and weather conditions.

5. Saving Vital Resources of Pakistan

Not only water is important for us but electricity, gas and other resources are also important for us. Every year we face the load shedding of electricity and gas. If we use these resources properly then we will be able to enjoy the supplies throughout the year.

6. Help more, Charity more

If you are looking for eternal peace then do something good for others. Help the needy and poor. The simple formula is to do one good deed daily for anyone. No matter who the other person is, just help them when you feel they are in trouble. We show a great example of brotherhood during the Coronavirus pandemic. Its time to go with the same spirit for the rest of the year. Let’s promise that this year none of us will withdraw money from the bank at the time of Zakat.

7. No more wastage of Food

Wasting food is prohibited in Islam. As a good Muslim and a good human being, it is our moral duty to share the food with the needy rather than wasting it. We all observe the mass wastage of food at our wedding functions. Its heart wrenching when the poor kids of our nation eat food from the garbage.

Time demands every individual to resolve not only for their progress and prosperity but also for the country which gave them a name, fame, and recognition, and we collectively have to brighten its name across the globe. We feel proud of our ancestors, but isn’t it an injustice to our children who in the future will have no heroes to feel proud of or look up to? Think for a while and just do it!
