Lockdown in Pakistan has not been a pleasant experience indeed, however, there is a lot we can relate to. Here is a list of things every Pakistani has been through in the Coronavirus lockdown:
1. Thought they have the Coronavirus
Almost all of us have thought of having COVID-19 when we feel slight itch and pain in the throat. We get terrified and started to cure ourselves by doing gargles and drinking lukewarm water. Suddenly everyone in the house gives you suspicious looks but Voila! Totkaz from Mom fixes everything overnight.
2. Abused their friend’s borrowed Netflix
If you haven’t heart of Netflix parasites, that’s because you might be one. Out of two categories, lenders and abusers, we might have contributed to ruining shows for your Netflix partners.
3. Craved for fast food
We all have a sibling who has a deep love and cravings for fast food but Mom won’t allow it. Why? Because there is a misconception that getting food served by a COVID positive person can infect you too. Congratulations! Mom 1 – you 0.
4. Doubted the pandemic
This is just weird that when we have few patients in Pakistan we all are so conscious and well hygienic. Now when there are numerous patients out there, we started doubting this pandemic. Just because someone said Bill Gates wanna put chips inside us. Are you normal or what?
5. Received 1000 ‘authentic’ COVID-19 Tokay on Whatsapp
Ting ting ting… You got it right! Whatsapp notifications! Even though this lockdown on its own is very much capable of getting on your nerves but there are some people out there who want to make it worse. Like everyone else, you will receive hundreds of messages daily which contain the authentic totkaz to cure COVID-19. Hello, I am not gonna drink every herb of mother earth.
6. Stopped brushing the hair
There are two types of people in this world. One who likes to look clean and tidy whereas others prefer to look like a homeless beggar. Lockdown has made us aware of many unnecessary things in life. Like who says combing hair daily is essential?
7. Thought of being a digital influencer
Browsing through Instagram and Youtube all day we all have at least thought once a day to become an influencer. Deep down many of us want fame and a chance to get dressed and influence the world while being at home.
8. Discussed ‘Ertugrul’ on social media
Whether you have seen it or not but the debate is most hyped in Pakistan right now. It has been trending on Twitter after PTV starting airing it. This Turkish drama gets a place in the hearts of Pakistanis with 5.54M subscribers. Most certainly, it is at the top of the tower. Nowadays you can’t scroll your newsfeed without seeing at least 100 posts about Ertugrul.
9. Dug down Syra Yousuf’s old posts
We all shipped Syra and Shahroz way too much to handle the divorce. Top it with Shehroz and Sadaf’s wedding, a new door of life opened up for the netizens. Digging down the old posts and intervening other’s privacy in the name of ‘sympathy’ is something we have witnessed.
10. Become a conspiracy expert
With an increasing amount of false information and a huge thanks to our Youtube channels, everyone is a conspiracy expert these days. Some say Coronavirus is a Lab-made disease (maybe maybe not) and others claim it as a ‘Yahoodi Sazish’. Whats more? PM is taking money from the IMF in the exchange of COVID patient’s corpses. The most astonishing one is Doctors are injecting patients with poison to reduce the population. Seriously bruh?
